Versatile range of unalloyed structural steel grades
Unalloyed structural steel grades are an economical solution for many applications. These steel grades have a yield strength of 185 – 450 MPa. Unalloyed structural steel grades are used in steel construction, mechanical engineering and mold making as well as in pressure vessel and boiler construction. They are also used in the construction machinery sector and in mining.

Better weldability and usability in cold conditions
Our structural steel grades are characterized by a limited chemical analysis. This enables us to meet our customers’ requirements for better weldability. To ensure that our sheets meet the requirements for use at low temperatures, we stock unalloyed structural steel grades in S355J2+N, S355J2C+N and S355K2+N with a notched bar impact test at -40 °C. In the thickness range up to 30 mm, we stock structural steel grades with guaranteed bendability. These are identified by Appendix C to the grade designation (S235JRC+N, S235J2C+N and S355J2C+N). The majority of our stock of unalloyed structural steel grades is normalized (grade designation +N).
Hot rolled Sheets according to DBS 918002
We stock sheets that comply with the technical delivery conditions of Deutsche Bahn. They meet the requirements of DBS 918002-01 and are therefore suitable for use in railway vehicles. We also stock structural steel grades that meet the requirements of DBS 918002-02. These are mainly used in bridge construction. Our extensive stock is certified with 3.2. Furthermore, DBS 918002-02 prescribes ultrasonic testing EN 10160 S3 (100 mm grid) /E4 from a plate thickness of 10 mm and testing of the properties in the tensile test and the notch impact properties by rolling plate (and not 60 t as the test unit). Sheets in S355J2+N with a thickness greater than 30 mm are subjected to a weld-on bending test at the factory. The sheets according to DBS 918002-02 are used in the production of components for trough bridges. The following grades are available: S355J2+N, S355NL, S355ML, S460NL, S460 ML. As widths of up to 3,500 mm are often required and lengths of up to 16,000 mm are possible, this results in high unit weights, with which we can score points in comparison to the competition. Thanks to the large width of our sheets, we reduce the welding work required, minimize production times and thus enable faster installation. The special requirements of Hot rolled Sheets for trough bridges are tested using various methods: Ultrasonic testing, weld-on bending test and acceptance by rolled plate (DBS requirements). The tensile test in the thickness direction (Z35), which we carry out for you as a service, is a subsequent test.
Hot rolled Sheets in weather-resistant steel grades
Weather-resistant steel grades offer excellent protection against the effects of the weather. Due to the addition of alloys, these steel grades do not corrode unchecked, but form a rusty top layer which adheres firmly and thus protects against rusting through. As there is no need for an anti-corrosion coating, costs and maintenance costs are reduced. In order to guarantee the best results at all times, we are constantly developing our range of products and services and tailoring them to the individual needs of our customers.
