2002 Company foundation
UnionStahl GmbH is founded in 2002. The administration is located in the former Krupp administration building in Duisburg-Rheinhausen and the first Hot rolled Sheets stocks are stored in forwarding warehouses.
2003
Construction of the company's own hall complex and administration building begins on the new Logport site, the former location of the Krupp steelworks in Duisburg-Rheinhausen. In spring 2003, 3 halls are ready for occupancy. The warehouse and the firing plant commence operations.
2004
In spring 2004, the administration moves into the new administration building. In the meantime, the number of employees has grown to 89.
2006
The company area is expanded by 3 halls and the open-air warehouse. The stock is expanded to include Steel grades - for example offshore sheets, sheets according to DBS 918002 - wall thicknesses and dimensions in order to cover market requirements.
2007
UnionStahl introduces barcode technology to identify and trace the Steel grades at any time and production status.
2008
UnionStahl expands its range of services to include laser cutting and ready-to-install components. A new hall complex with laser systems and processing center is built at the site. After strong growth in the last 5 years, the administration building is also extended by one floor to cover the space requirements.
2014
The high capacity utilization of our laser systems and the processing center requires the expansion of the production areas. Two new halls with larger machinery are built.
2017
UnionStahl has grown considerably since the company was founded in 2002. The company now has around 300 employees, various sales offices worldwide and offers a comprehensive portfolio of services.
2020
Expansion of the hall complex to include halls 11 and 12 for the storage of strip sheets in various grades. The direct connection to the laser systems enables short processing paths. Our unique stock, oxyfuel, plasma and laser burning capabilities and our processing options establish us as the leading heavy plate specialist in Europe.
2022
UnionStahl celebrates its 20th anniversary! We celebrated this with all our employees and their families on our company premises in Duisburg. There were attractions for young and old, live music, ice cream, drinks and a great barbecue buffet. We also invested in our machinery in 2022 and expanded it considerably.
