High-strength steel grades from renowned manufacturers for high loads
Due to their yield strength, high-strength steel grades offer the potential to reduce the weight of the structure. High loads can be withstood with a low dead weight. They are used in crane, steel and mechanical engineering as well as in the manufacture of conveyor equipment. In the area of high-strength fine-grained structural steel grades – yield strength 690 – 1100 Mpa acc. EN 10025-6 – we offer you a wide range of high quality grades.
Our high-strength steel grades offer you these advantages
- S690QL1 with notched bar impact test at -60 °C
- Test certificates 3.2 DNV, 3.2 ABS and 3.2 LR for S690QL/QL1
- In S690QL1/QL Steel grades thicknesses up to 250 mm and intermediate thicknesses: 7 and 9 mm in stock
- Alform 700M (quarto plate) in thicknesses: 8 – 60 mm
- Sheets in S960QL and S1100QL up to 16 mm wall thickness with tolerances acc. Telescopic boom regulations
- Available sheet thicknesses in S960QL and S1100QL: 4,5; 5,5; 6,5; 7; 8,5 and 9,5 mm
- S690QL/QL1: We stock 3,250 and 3,500 mm wide sheets in thicknesses up to 70 mm
- S690QL/QL 1and S960 QL: Sheets partially tested by the manufacturer Z25/Z35

High-strength steel grades: Your partner for crane construction
High-strength steel grades are used in crane construction, for example, to reduce operating costs and increase load capacity due to their low weight. The superstructure, undercarriage and masts are largely made of high-strength hardened and tempered fine-grained structural steel grades. This means that high loads can be safely and economically withstood with a low dead weight.
In addition to the commercially available Steel grades S690QL and S960QL, we specialize in S890QL and exotic Steel grades such as S1100QL.
As part of our full range, we stock Steel grades in formats up to 3,000 mm wide and up to 12,000 mm long. A special feature on the market is our wide range of intermediate thicknesses (from 4,50 mm to 9,50 mm), which are particularly in demand for the production of crane booms.
In order to meet the high demands of our customers in every respect, we also offer high-strength structural steel grades in the intermediate thicknesses and Steel grades S960QL/S1100QL with additional telescopic boom certification (TOL. Teleskop 23.08.1989) as part of our full range. This certification also impresses with tighter tolerances and is generally approved by most well-known crane manufacturers.
Our quality standards for high-strength steel
In order to guarantee our customers a high level of quality, these Steel grades are only ordered from selected manufacturers. Product brands such as NAXTRA, XABO, DILLIMAX, ALDUR, SUPRALSIM, MAXIL, STRENX, perform etc. are trade names for these Steel grades and are part of our standard range.
In addition, we stock high-strength steel grades suitable for cold forming in accordance with the German cold forming standards. EN 10149-2. These sheets are used in vehicle construction, among other things. The cold-forming steel grades are characterized by high strength combined with good formability.
The customer base for high-strength steel grades places high demands. These are usually sophisticated building structures or machine components with special requirements. High-strength steel is widely used as an ideal construction Steel grades and is frequently used in automotive engineering and many other areas.
