Offshore steel grades: Perfect for high toughness and low temperatures

The steel grades used must be suitable for low temperatures, have high toughness values and very good weldability. With our extensive stock of offshore steel grades, we are always a reliable partner for you to meet your short-term requirements.

Our offshore steel grades offer you these advantages

  • Thicknesses up to 250 mm
  • Excess widths: 3,500 and 4,000 mm
  • Lengths up to 16,000 mm
  • Unit weights up to 30 tons
  • 3.2 Acceptance by the classification societies DNV and LR
  • Thickness tolerance according to DIN EN 10029 Class C
  • NORSOK MDS-120 Y20, Y30 and Y40 with the options 5, 8, 11, 12, 17 up to 250 mm according to DIN EN 10225

High-quality offshore steel grades for demanding applications

The extraction of oil and gas in offshore areas takes place under challenging environmental conditions. Located deep under the seabed, these areas are exposed to seasonal temperature fluctuations and strong winds, which offshore steel grades have to withstand. These steel grades are also used in the construction of foundations for wind turbines at offshore locations.

Our range includes offshore steel grades in accordance with the EN 10225, NORSOK and API standards in the normalized and thermomechanically rolled delivery states.

Thermomechanically rolled sheets are characterized by good toughness and weldability.

We source offshore steel grades exclusively from renowned Western European rolling mills whose steel grades are characterized by consistently high quality.

We stock excess widths and lengths. This offers our customers freedom in design and minimizes the welding effort.

Our offshore steel grades fulfill the following options of EN 10225 product analysis (option 5), CEV and Pcm (option 8), stretch ageing test (option 11), tensile test in thickness direction Z35 (option 12) and information on weldability (option 17).

The sheets are documented with test certificates in accordance with DIN EN 10204 3.2 from the classification societies DNV and LR.

In addition to Hot rolled Sheets, we stock bulb flat steel profiles in grades A, D36, E36 and S355NL.

We manufacture ready cut parts to tight tolerances. These include, for example, so-called “racks” or gear racks for the leg structure of “jack-up rigs”.
